February, 2019

Throughout the week of February 18th - February 24th: The sky is lightening by 6 am. It’s warmer out today, with traces of humidity throughout the environment (32 degrees F, 99% precipitation, 96%   humidity, wind 4 mph, 35 - 30 degrees, snow, 6 am, Thursday, February 21st, 2019). We had a severely cursed cold sweep throughout the first two weeks of February, with dark energies and empty silences... a presence which held questions - serious inquiry and deep awakening ... a certain kind of darkness would reach, in waves. Usually the occurance was during the hour or two before the sun’s setting. February was filled with such ... A few more cold nights filled the month, 16 degrees, 18 degrees, 13 degrees - the coldest reported temperatures which I’ve observed, yet, is 9-13 degrees, in 2018-2019.  Sunday, February 24th, 2019:  A dark sky above, darker than most. At 5:04 am it is still dark out. As I’m trying to catch the exact moment of light, ...

“The Saints of Valentinus” (A Story of Martyrdom)

St. V alentine’s Day: We have encountered another record-low temperature for the year! In the early hours of 3 and 5am, between February, the 1st, and Monday, February 11th, 2019, the temperature fluctuated from the 20’s and 10’s, and finally dropped to 14 degrees - displayed in the forecast. There is around 2 feet of snow on the ground, ice-cold and frigid, with dispersed and light snowfalls spaced throughout the week. It was a “Snowy White Valentine’s Day” in S.E. Alaska! Very still, silent , and with a peaceful absence of the standard faint ambience heard in the background of the atmospheric surroundings. Some notion of sleep was expressed through the spirit of the natural world and wavering thought, breath and existence seemed to breathe through the trees (which are still covered in a few inches of snow). ❄️❤️☕️🎼🌌🔭🌲  Currently it is 27 degrees, and clear.  The precipitation is 0%, Humidity is 89%, with 0 mph winds. The estimated high is 33 degrees, and t...

A bright afternoon despite the cloud cover and snow. The light was a brilliant white. It was a cold day with hints of warmer temperatures throughout the environment... Nothing interesting or notable for observation, except the expressions of light and dark, which January contains, and is representative of, in its placement on the 12-month calendar...  Sunset: 3:55 pm, Sunday, January 20th, 2019 Moment Of Darkness: On January 20th, 2019, begins in the 54th minute of Four O’Clock, (4:54) sometime between the minutes of 4:56 and 4:57 is the moment of darkness, and at 5:03 it is “dark” out...
