Strawberry Sunrise - Wednesday, June 19th, 2019




The first hints of a strawberry moon are visible in Petersburg AK by 2:24 AM,  Wednesday, the 19th of June (2019). The pink light appears to be painted out (like a watercolor or pastel) across the horizon during the sunrise, and is visible through house windows. 

48 degrees, precipitation 4%, humidity 93%, wind 0, hi/lo - 58/46, partly cloudy. 


A light layer of fog covers the sky, with charcoal and smoke-colored tints at the edges.

Summer (2019)

Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 - Monday, June 3rd, 2019  Dispersed overcast for two days, lighter skies could be seen through the clouds, which were lit up by the summer sun. The first notable rain shower (of this season) occurred on Saturday afternoon (1 hour of slightly dense rains fell) and a few rainfalls (taking place for only seconds or moments) in the week before.  The nights have been perfect in temperature for dwelling in the outside world (temperate).  Moonrise: 4:44 am Moonset: 10:01 pm  Moon phase: 0.1% waning crescent 🌙  Current S.E. The trajectory of the sun appears to match, closely that of Summer - rising in the north, setting in the slightly northern section of the southwest… although I am not sure about the setting … a beautiful Northern Sunrise (northern/alaskan)... However, the day is shaded at 7:30 AM… at 7:35, the Sunrise has possibly possibly risen… sometime in those minutes is the Sunrise… I'm not sure according to observatory standards … this is the time I would place the Sunrise- (7:34/7:35 … *7:34 AM) 41° F at 7:38 AM… which matches the record from the observ...
